Hello everyone and welcome to the
2009-2010 school year!
I will be teaching K-8th grade P.E, along with 8th grade geometry, and 7th grade Bible. A little about myself: I am an RCA 1999 alumni. I went onto graduate high school from Gulliver Prep. I received a full scholarship to attend Stetson University located in Deland, Florida, where I played Division I volleyball for four years. I received my B.A in psychology, and I am currently working to obtain my M.S in psychology. I enjoy working with kids and I am excited for this opportunity that I have been given to work with your children this year. Right now you will find that my primary classroom is out on the field or a court of some kind. This year during P.E, I want to encourage the kids to exercise in a fun and safe manner. I will be teaching aspects of team sports, along with individual agility and body/spatial awareness. I want all the kids to understand the benefits of exercise as a part of their everyday routine for overall good health. God has given us each one physical body to take care of, and we must do so to the best of our abilities. Geometry is a key part of the math foundation, as well as being incorporated into the math section on the S.A.T. I will be instructing the kids to learn the vocabulary and basics, before we move onto piecing the shapes together. 7th Grade Bible curriculum consists of the Life of Christ. We will be focusing on the New Testament. I will be guiding the students in discussions about life applications and furthering their knowledge and understanding of what it is to have Christ-like character. I am excited for the
start of the new school year. I trust that the Lord will guide me as I am
taking on this new venture. I hope to meet each one of you at our first
Middle School meeting. God Bless,
