Mr. Oberle's

                                    Third Grade Class

Dear Parents,                                                                                                   

            My name is Mr. Sean Oberle, and I will be your child’s third grade teacher this year.  You and I will be working together as a team this upcoming school year to ensure the best education for your child.  I would like to take this time to share some things about myself, both personally and professionally. 

            I was born in Clearwater, Florida and have lived here in Homestead, Florida for the past 29 years.  I attended Miami Dade Community College in Homestead where I received my Associate of Arts degree and continued on to Florida International University where I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree. I also had the awesome privilege of attending the week long teacher training seminar at Pensacola Christian College, the home of A Beka Books.  I got married soon after I graduated from college and my wife and I are very firm believers in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  We are members of Faith Church of the Redlands where our faith is constantly being stretched.  She also has had the calling to be one of our Rainbow teachers.

            Academically, we will be exploring new insights in many areas.  This year in Bible we will start by reviewing salvation and the life of Jesus Christ as well as focus in on the understanding of faith and studying the lives of some Biblical figures that had a close relationship to God and how faith ensured spiritual growth.  These Biblical figures we will be studying about are the prophets, David and Esther.  

            In reading, we will read a series of books that also stress and exemplify positive character traits. 

            Language will be a strengthening of grammar, punctuation, and essay writing.  I will encourage the children to use their imagination to the fullest to express themselves using their new language skills for writing poetry and descriptive narration. 

            A Beka Mathematics Stresses the absolutes of God’s creation, trains the mental ability of the students, and gives them concrete facts upon which to build later mathematical understanding.

            Third grade also will explore God’s world through science, our bodies in health and again positive historical characters from American history.

            I am looking forward to working together for the betterment of your child academically and spiritually. I know we’re going to have a great year!
