Last month a lesson entitled, Heaven-A Beautiful Home was taught to the children. Below are a few highlights from the story. · Heaven is a real place. · Heaven is above the clouds. · Heaven is where God lives, and it existed before He created the sun, moon, stars, planets, the land and waters, animals, and man. · The Bible does not tell us everything about heaven. However, it does reveal a little information about it. After all, heaven is a gift from God, and He wants us to be surprised when He gives us our reward. Who is in heaven? · Jesus · People · Angles What is in heaven? · The Lamb’s Book of Life. Written in the book are the names of those people who have trusted Jesus as their Personal Savior. · Big…beautiful mansions · Streets paved with gold What’s not in heaven? · tears · sickness · death · sin · darkness Will everyone live in heaven? · God said, “He is not willing that any person should perish, but that all should come to repentance and spend eternity in heaven.” Who will spend eternity in heaven? · Only those who trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior will enjoy the splendor of living in heaven for all eternity. How many paths lead to heaven? · There is only one sure path to heaven, and that is through trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When should a person began preparing to live in heaven? · You must make the eternal decision to trust Jesus as you Lord and Savior when you hear the [real] truth and understand it. This decision should be made while you are still alive on Earth. It’s too late to trust Jesus as Savior once you die. “Once a MAN dies, appointed unto him is the judgment.” If you reject Jesus as your Savior, you reject all the good things that God wants to give you. How often do people go to heaven? · Everyday! “There were people on Earth yesterday, that will be in heaven today. And, there are people on Earth today, that will be in heaven tomorrow.”
What about you? Do you know for sure you will go to heaven when you die? Have you acknowledged that you are spiritually lost? Have you repented of your sins, and trusted Jesus to be the Lord of your life so that you will spend your eternity in heaven?
Extended Reading: Revelation 20:15, Revelation 22:21, John 14:1-6 and John 3:16-19
